Four Steps to becoming an ACHT Homeowner

Finding the perfect home takes time.
Starting the ACHT homebuying process doesn’t. Follow these four steps to find a home you can afford.

Step 1
Complete an application.

You’ll need to provide your income, assets, debts and monthly bills, as well as some other family information. The application must be complete before we determine your program eligibility. If you have trouble completing the form, contact us at 518-873-6888—we will try to help.

Step 2
Take homebuyer education and credit counseling classes.

If you’re eligible to participate in the program, we’ll let you know and share a class schedule. You’ll determine how much money you can comfortably borrow through this part of the process.
Step 3
Pre-qualify for a mortgage.

We’ll share a list of lenders participating in the ACHT program. You’ll use much of the same information you included on the ACHT application.
Step 4
Start looking!

Either select an ACHT-built property, or identify a home in your price range and let ACHT know what you’ve chosen.
